De La Salle Green Archers beat FEU Tamaraws, enter finals

The De La Salle Green Archers delivered in the clutch as they defeated the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 71-68, on September 25 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena to reach the finals of UAAP men's basketball.

Jason Perkins found Jeron Teng free for a short leaner to give the Archers the go-ahead basket, 68-66, 2:38 in the clock. Teng and LA Revilla then converted a freethrow each for a four-point lead with just 13 ticks to go. After Terrence Romeo scored in a short stab off an inbounds play, Perkins swished a charity to ice the game.

Teng, Revilla, and Norbert Torres all scored 15 points for the victors.

Carl Bryan Cruz topped FEU with 16 points, while MVP Romeo finished the season with 14 markers and three rebounds.

"I told my players to focus on what we are good at," said De La Salle men's basketball head coach Juno Sauler. "They played their hearts out in the last four minutes of the game."

The Archers await the winner of the do-or-die battle between top seed National University and upset-minded University of Santo Tomas, which will be played on Saturday.

"We just have to prepare whoever wins," Sauler shared.
